•  GREAT SUCCESS FOR LUNE D'OR

  Winner of  PREMIO  LYDIA TESIO DARLEY ( GR I )

"BRITTAIN’S Mazuna and the Geoff Wragg-trained Monturani, the two British raiders, cut little ice in the Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio, which resulted in Lune d’Or leading home a French one-two.

Richard Gibson’s 7.58-1 chance proved two lengths too strong for Andre Fabre’s representative, Walkamia.

Mazuna ran a solid enough race, staying on from the rear to take sixth, seven and a half lengths behind the winner. Monturani was more of a disappointment, losing her prominent pitch on the outside with over quarter of a mile to run and dropping away to finish eleventh.

Saldentigerin, the mount of Richard Quinn who left Italy with a five-day ban, was sent off at 22-10 in a field reduced to 13 by the withdrawals of Kinnairdand Whortleberry.

Having made the running and holding a clear advantage rounding the home turn, she offered little resistance when the winner swept past a furlong and a half from home and finished eighth.

"I was very confident," said winning rider Thierry Jarnet. "In the Vermeille (tenth) she was sick, and now she is okay. She is better than Walkamia and she proved again she is a true Group 1 filly."

Eric Legrix, who rode the Walkamia, conceded: "She ran at her best, but today we have found a better filly." . . .

• ARTIE SCHILLER

Already recognized as a top member of a deep three years old division, ARTIE SCHILLER continued to impress yesterday while winning the Gr.2 MUSEUM OF RACING HALL OF FAME  H.  at SARATOGA  August 9th .

The jockey Richard MIGLIORE said about the MEZERAY bred " He was the real deal today, but I don't think we've seen the best of him yet".

The September 6th Gr.3 SARANAC S.  at SARATOGA is up next for "ARTIE".

•  LUNE D'OR

  After taking the PRIX MALLERET  July 4th, the homebred LUNE D'OR showed improvement again when winning last saturday the PRIX DE POMONE Gr.2 against her olderst.

  "This confirm all the quality she showed in the MALLERET", conditioner Richard GIBSON commented.

  "This was a better performance with the penalty  as she got a proper pace here. She is a fresh filly and all being well, she will head for the Gr. 1 PRIX VERMEILLE  next.

• AMONG THE STARS...

Great success for LUNE D'OR sunday  04th of July in Longchamp in the PRIX MALLERET Gr.2 .

This filly  ran under the BLACK and GOLD  colours of HARAS DU MEZERAY.

The homebreed LUNE D'OR daughter of GREEN TUNE out of LUTH D'OR ( by NOIR ET OR ), coming from a well established MEZERAY family which has already produced the champion LUTH ENCHANTEE, as well as the good filly KHUMBA MELA.

Next aim : The PRIX VERMEILLE next september.

• A LISTED WINNER FOR LOUP SOLITAIRE

SMALA TICA won saturday 26th of June, the Grand Prix de Lyon - L - 1m.1/2 .

The LOUP SOLITAIRE filly will probably run this summer in a Group.

 race.

• BLUE CANARI

The great winner of the 2004 JOCKEY CLUB - BLUE CANARI was born and bred at HARAS DU MEZERAY and then prepared for the 2002 August Deauville Sales.

He was consigned by HARAS DU MEZERAY and sold  to CHANTILLY BLOODSTOCK  on behalf of Jean-Louis BOUCHARD for € 135,000.

After the sales, BLUE CANARI son of ACATENANGO out of DELICIEUSE LADY ( by TREMPOLINO ) daughter of SAVOUREUSE LADY, came back to MEZERAY to be broken  before leaving for Pascal BARY' S stables in automn 2002...

A WONDERFUL SUCCESS   WITH THE  COLOURS OF MEZERAY.

• ARTIE SCHILLER

Another success for the MEZERAY - in the US on June 6th  ARTIE SCHILLER was  winner of the HILL PRINCE S. Gr 3 in Belmont Park.

Resulting from the crossing  EL PRADO / HIDDEN LIGHT, bred at MILL RIDGE on behalf of  MEZERAY, this yearling was sold at KEENLAND in 2002.

Next aim for this great horse is SECRETARIAT STAKES Gr 1.

We will be able to present  you pedigree and picture of those yearlings within a few days.
